Local Garden

Author: admin, Posted On: March 21st, 2013, In: Groceries

Local Garden is North America's first ever vertical garden farm in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Built on the rooftop of a Richards Street parkade, Local Garden produces up to 3500 pounds of fresh healthy greens a week throughout the year. That’s as much production as a 5 acres farm, but they do it in a concrete structure in a 6000 square foot area.

How do they do it? Local Garden’s patent pending vertical growing technology requires 92% less water than conventional field farming practices and produces a bounty of greens without the use of any pesticides, right in our downtown core.

Pok Pok Drinking Vinegar

Author: admin, Posted On: January 16th, 2013, In: Groceries

Pok Pok Som is a drinking vinegar handcrafted in Portland using natural flavoring, organic cane sugar and quality natural vinegars. Pok Pok has been serving these vinegars since 2005, both diluted with soda water as a soft drink and at full strength as a mixer in several of its house cocktails.

Drinking vinegar for health reasons is an age old practice in many cultures around the world including in the USA, dating back to colonial times when “shrubs” were a common tonic. While the company does not make any claims as to the health benefits of their product, it is a delicious and refreshing drink with a nice tartness coming from the vinegar and concentrated flavors of fruit, vegetable and aromatics.

Cuppows

Author: admin, Posted On: January 12th, 2013, In: Groceries

CUPPOW is your solution for easier drinking from a canning jar. It works great, it’s super durable, it’s made in the USA, it’s phthalate and BPA free, it’s recyclable, and it doesn’t break the bank.

The canning jar already makes an awesome platform for a travel mug: it’s easy to clean, made of heat- resistant glass, cheap, durable, and when sealed it doesn’t leak. The only problem is that with their large openings, canning jars are not great for spill-free sipping while on the move. So Cuppows adapted it - making new lids that let you drink like a boss from virtually any wide or regular mouth canning jar. It’s a simple eco-friendly alternative to poor-performing and messy disposable hot cups and over-built and expensive travel mugs.
